Jeff Gibson was born in Shelbyville, Indiana, but grew up in Mississippi and Tennessee, where he attended college. In 1997, he returned to Indiana to attend Indiana University, where he received a Bachelor of Arts degree. In 2000, he received his J.D. from Indiana University School of Law Indianapolis. Attorney Gibson is licensed to practice law in Indiana, five federal district courts, and the Seventh Circuit Court of Appeals, among other places. Jeff has established himself as a legal authority throughout his long career. Several drug and medical device litigation steering committees have entrusted him with leadership roles. In re Prempro Products Liability Litigation, MDL No. 4:03-CV-1507, chair of the non-party discovery committee; in re Consolidated Fresenius Cases (GranuFlo), pending in Massachusetts, Middlesex County, MICV2013-3400-O, chair of the bellwether discovery program; in infusion pain pump cases, national coordinating counsel where no MDL existed; plaintiff's steering committee in Zofran (Ondansetron) Products. In Re Johnson and Johnson Talcum Powder Litigation, Sales Practice and Product Liability Litigation MDL 2738, and In Re VALSARTAN N-NITROSODIMETHYLAMINE (NDMA) PRODUCTS LIABILITY LITIGATION MDL 2875, he serves on several multi-district litigation steering committees. When it comes to sexual assault and trafficking, Mr. Gibson is part of a national alliance of sexual abuse attorneys who devote their practice to helping survivors of these crimes. Jeff frequently represents victims of sexual assault and medical and pharmaceutical litigation. He has represented and helped Olympic athletes, clergy abuse victims, and patients in residential treatment facilities, among other things. Jeff and his colleagues firmly believe that survivors of sexual violence can give a face and a platform to those who have been silenced for so many years. People who have been harmed by sexual violence can count on them to stand up and fight for their rights. In addition to being a well-known legal author, Attorney Gibson has had numerous articles published in legal journals. Mass Torts Made Perfect, National Business Institute Continuing Legal Education (NBICLE), and the Indiana Trial Lawyers Association have invited him to speak as a keynote speaker at various legal conferences and seminars. In addition, Jeff serves as a member of the National Crime Victim Bar Association, representing crime victims in civil lawsuits. He has been recognized as a Super Lawyers® and a Super Lawyers® Rising Stars member. The National Trial Lawyers Association's "40 Under 40" award was another honor. He is a member of the Indiana Trial Lawyers and the Indianapolis Bar Association for the American Association for Justice. Jeff spends most of his free time with his family, including watching his children participate in various youth sports. You may see him and his family at an IU men's basketball or football game. If Jeff isn't relaxing, he serves on the Board of Directors for Beyond Monumental, a non-profit that promotes the health and well-being of young people through events like the Monumental Marathon.
